We live in the South, and despite the fact that we have what I think is a welcoming and relatively clutter-free front porch, no one ever uses the front door. In the laid-back South, people figure sooner or later they're going to know about your dirty laundry anyway so they just go ahead and get it over with from the git-go. Back porches have always played a dual role as that "extra closet", or dumping ground for the overflow of life. Pet food, pet beds and bowls, sports equipment, two deep freezers, a garbage can for cardboard recycling, and a sagging, mildewed, second-hand ping pong table are the items that get to grace my back porch.
Last summer I decided to stop fighting this deep Dixie mess and just embrace it. So here and there I did a few little crafty projects for "theme" enhancement, (I decided to go with the Redneck one).
Below are a few highlighted projects for this long-absent Home on Tuesday blog feature.
I'm not showing you the homemade weight bench, weights, ping pong table, other freezer, or dilapidated and rusting foos ball table, but you get the picture. Great design or not, it's the place I love to call Home. Y'all come back now, ya' hear.
Have a great week!
P.S. No kidding, in the middle of typing this post, the U.P.S. man delivered two packages--to the back porch.
