Yesterday. I had a rare opportunity to laze away my Saturday morning just thumbing through the pages of a few of these magazines that had been piling up. I was thinking about Mother's Day and my own children, and words (and visuals) of inspiration hit. Four decades plus into this world, I decided to "make my mommy a collage". The palette I chose is rather subdued, but my eighty-one year old mother is also pretty reserved. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was kind of fun to just paint over something I didn't like. I'm mostly pleased with the result. I love this happy picture of my Mom balancing me on her lap. The other photo is her favorite picture of my sister and me together.
Is the song
That forever plays
In a mother's
Spend today with those you love.
