I took photos of my progress from start to finish and I am posting them in the slideshow below. Most need no comment, but I have added a few words within the captions as needed. Toward the end of the slide show, I have a few closeups, and a few redundancies with mostly finished work, except for the slight lighting changes.
I don't always keep an exact count of the hours spent on a mosaic, (though I should). However, each photo here loosely represents about an hour of time, though I did the majority of my cutting before I even adhered my first piece, so that labor is not photographically accounted for.
Even as I post this, the piece is not quite finished. I still need to grab my dental tools and get to work to scrape off a little messiness from the thinset. Other commitments have required that I move on to another project, and I will revisit Genevieve at a later date to clean her up a bit.
P.S. The title, Genevieve, means "white wave", but I've recently learned that Genevieve also means "the race of women". I like that.
Hope you had Fabulous Friday. I did manage to get this posted before midnight CT, so technically it is still Friday.
