My daughter took the (unedited!) photo above earlier this week while her older brother drove them both to school. Almost every morning they are treated to a spectacular sunrise as they make the 40 minute trek lined with cotton fields, pecan groves, cow pastures, over water, through traffic and into another state As a mother, I am both thankful and terrified. This is the first year that I am not serving as the morning and afternoon bus driver.
Each day I await the message that can put my mind at ease: "There." is the one-word text message I get to let me know they have safely arrived at their destination.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all mindfully acknowledge when we get "there"? By that, I mean take the time to appreciate where you are in the moment. Whether it's enjoying the outdoors, immersing yourself in a hobby, or spending time with the ones you love, stop and breathe it all in. Make a conscious effort each day to bypass the clutter; resentment, self-imposed stress, and negativity (ours and others'). You can choose to navigate the direction of your day. You are behind the wheel.
Are you "there" yet?
Have a Fabulous Friday!
