I am the featured artist for February in a local publication here on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Beachin’ magazine, published by Gulf Coast Media, is for locals and tourists and promotes the upcoming happenings in our area focusing on Orange Beach, AL, and Gulf Shores, AL, but can also include other parts of Baldwin County, AL an Perdido Key, FL.
Destiny Brown singularly and creatively puts this publication together serving as editor, writer, and photographer. This is a free publication and is funded by ads from all of the delicious restaurants and other local businesses we have at the beach.
Destiny did the interview at my house. She’s a lovely young woman and I’ve since learned she is multi-talented, and performs around here playing her guitar and singing. I think she did a nice job with the article and even managed to take a few decent photos of me. (I confess I’m usually not ever happy with pix of me).
Here’s the link to the article. Sorry, I don't know how to shorten this. I'm on pages 26-28.
Ewa Zdanowska-Gora, who’d seen my work on Pinterest, and wanted to feature it in her blog also contacted me. I agreed, and she sent me the link to her article once it was written. Okay, the article is written in Polish, and I’m not sure that Google translator does a perfect job with all the verbiage, but I’ll take it. Here's the link for that blogpost, too.
I’m currently out in my studio with every spare moment (other than this one), as I’m creating new work for the upcoming Orange Beach Festival of Art March 11th-12th.
Once I’m through with that, I plan to post a few photos of some of the “work in progress” shots that I’ve been taking as I go. I’ve not done a great job keeping this blog up-to-date, but I have plenty of photos and works to share with you.
I also have plans to revamp my website, and I'm toying with the idea of selling directly from here. I’d love feedback on that idea versus Etsy or a similar platform. I’ve had an Etsy account before, but have not put the required effort into it. All will require effort. I'm willing, jut short on time. One over the other? Both? Many? If you have an opinion or experience with selling your art online, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by,
